Our members are involved in various missions, local and abroad. Below is information about our current and recent missions. Click on the mission below to learn more about it.
Almost every year, one or more of our members travel to Guatemala, to participate in the Guatemala Project. The village of Chichicastenango is located in the cool mountains of the department of Santa Cruz del Quichi. You can become a part of all this by going to Guatemala yourself or by donating much needed vitamins and other necessities. The Guatemala Project is run under the aegis of the San Diego District United Methodist Church, but it receives no funding and relies on donations and is somewhat self-supporting through the making of Guatemalan Native Handicrafts. Periodically, project director Carol Conger-Cross of Lemon Grove, brings some of these handmade items such as purses, backpacks, glass cases, jackets and picture frames for purchase. This project is sponsored at our church by Family Ministries. |
